Christmas is almost upon us and not a card written! Are you all prepared? I am so far behind this year-probably because I’ve been trying to sew those few extra presents! Though come’ the day’ I’m sure everything will be ready.
Margaret and I have been taking part in some Christmas Craft Fairs. Our last two before Christmas are at Lakeside Farm Shop, Ellerton on 2nd December and Bowes Museum at Barnard Castle on 16th December. By then we should both be ‘in the spirit’ – one way or another!
We had a wonderful workshop day at Carthorpe this month. All our ladies went home with two Christmas decorations either completed or almost completed. The mix of people was perfect and we had lots of laughs as well as mince pies and chocolate cake. (For newer readers you will find that chocolate features quite heavily in the working day at Kit and Kaboodle – be it in a cake, to drink or straight from the packet!!)
We are hoping to run some more workshops in the New Year so watch this space ..
Our Adult Block of the Month for December is a 9-patch design called Star of Bethlehem. We have used a slightly glittery seasonal fabric for this with Christmas Tree Green for the star. The Block is made up of squares, triangles and diamond shapes and great fun to make. Finished size 10” x 10”.
The Junior Block of the Month for December is also a 9-patch design called Christmas Tree. The Tree is made up of a dark green fabric covered in stars and to make this a fun block for Christmas we have included sequins and stars for you to sew on. Finished size 12” x 12”.
Fabrics may vary depending on demand.
For those of you who are going to the Christmas Fair at Bowes Museum – we look forward to meeting you.
Margaret and I send our very best wishes to you and yours for Christmas and the New Year. We’ll be back in 2008.
Nona and Margaret
