Hello Patchers and Quilters

I hope you have all been able to enjoy some of the summer sunshine we have had over the last week or so – today the weather has turned and it is pouring down in North Yorkshire.

The same can be said for Sneaton and Hawsker Show earlier this month.  As we drove over the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day – but by lunch time the heavens opened and it turned quite chilly.  Nothing stops the quilter though from seeking out new things and it was lovely to meet some new faces.  One of the nice things about meeting other quilters is always being able to learn something new from them.  If you have any handy tips please pass them on, e mail me at slaes@kitandkaboodleuk.com

The adult block for this month is called ‘Broken Pinwheel’.  It is made up of four small blocks each consisting of three pieces, so twelve pieces in all.  Made from 100% cotton in beautiful hot colours of yellow and orange.  The finished block measures 10” x 10”.

The junior BOTM is called ‘Pinwheel’ .  It is made up of four small blocks each consisting of two pieces so eight pieces in all.  Made from 100% cotton this too is made up of hot and exciting oranges with relief ‘blobs’ .  Finished size approx 12” x 12”

Both can be found on the web site at the usual prices of £5 and £3 respectively plus p and p of £2 per block.

I have recently become involved with a new web site called www.myquiltpatch.com it is well worth a look.  They are always looking out for contributions to their newly opened site or just communicate with other quilters.  Let me know what you think.
