JUNIOR NEWSLETTER APRIL 2008 KIT AND KABOODLE
PATCHWORK KITS
APRIL NEWSLETTER 2008
Hello Junior Patchers and Quilters
I hope you all had a good Easter. I spent mine with my family having a good old get together and one or two Ester eggs!
This month I have a block for you called ‘Log Cabin’. It is a very old and very used block. Depending on how the blocks are joined, you can get some very interesting effects.
Traditionally the centre square in a Log Cabin was red to represent the fire in a cabin; the ‘logs’ surrounding it represent the logs that the cabin was made of. Having one side light and the other side dark represented the light and shadow from the fire.
I have enclosed a ‘potted history’ of this block with every kit.
The usual price applies - £3 for the block plus £2 p and p.
I showed you a picture of one of my cats last month – Rusty. Now, not only has she taken to sitting on my half-made quilts but also on the keyboard when I am trying to type! I think she just likes to spend time with me and have a fuss made of her.
Till next month – Happy Sewing. Nona
